Camden Faith Communities Partnership
Registered Charity: 1138190
Welcome to the website of the Camden Faith Communities Partnership. This
website is under construction, so please visit us again soon.
The CFCP was founded in 2003 by faith communities throughout the London
Borough of Camden as a wholly independent interfaith body, working in
collaboration with other interfaith and faith-based groups, Camden
Council, and other statutory agencies. The charitable objects of the CFCP are
the promotion of religious harmony for the benefit of the public, and the CFCP
brings together all people of faith from Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish,
Muslim, Sikh and Zoroastrian and other religious communities across Camden, to
promote mutual understanding and respect for our religious differences and
common ground.
The CFCP is also a member body of the
Inter Faith Network for the United Kingdom (Registered Charity: 1068934),
the national interfaith representative body, and the CFCP also collaborates
with other interfaith organisations, such as
Scriptural Reasoning and the Imams and
Rabbis Council of the United Kingdom.
Objectives
and Past Activities
The Camden Faith Communities Partnership has had an enormous impact upon
the London Borough of Camden in promoting religious harmony for public benefit.
We aim to educate the public in different religious faiths and we have achieved
this by a number of educational initiatives:
The CFCP aims also to build mutual understanding and respect between
different faiths by encouraging social interaction through our regular meetings
and study, and organising programmes of interfaith celebration together:
General
Meetings
The General Meetings of the Camden Faith Communities Partnership are the
heart of our engagement and are an inclusive, democratic and egalitarian forum
which is open to representatives of all places of worship and faith-based
organisations within the London Borough of Camden.
These General Meetings are where faith leaders and representatives of
diverse places of worship and faith-based groups meet democratically to discuss
and decide our common social action within Camden. The meetings take place quarterly at Camden
Town Hall.
Please write to us if you would like your organisation to be represented
at the General Meeting.
